Local Solutions to make Authentic Historic Preservation Practical and Smart without Modern Replacement

The purpose of this board is a forum to find and promote practical ways to preserve historic architecture as an economically feasible alternative to modern replacement options. Please post possible sources of old architectural salvage, reasonably priced local craftspeople who: restore old wooden windows to original working condition, reproduce original mill work, etc..., or retailers who sell authentic historic reproduction hardware at reasonable prices--Please-nothing to promote vinyl siding, slide in replacement windows, etc... While we respect that these may be good options for some people, these are easily manufactured and installed thus widely promoted through major retailers and contractors everywhere.
