The Brookland Dwellers are committed to giving a voice to our community in all issues! It has been brought to our attention that there are places in Historic Brookland with chronic flooding issues. A lot of this is related to our open brooks having been replaced with limited capacity storm pipes. Here's an idea-Public green spaces that are designed to capture excess floodwater in a deluge, becoming holding ponds. While flooded, the public enjoys a "Venice-like" stroll experience with waterfront sidewalks. Could we create needed green space while making our community the only in the Southeast looking forward to major floods?
